A sweep reports candidates for you to inspect, so the best result comes from pairing it with a careful look by hand. Here is how to search.
Work around the room the way a professional would, starting with the objects that hide devices most often. Turn off the main lights, use your flashlight, and look at each item from a few angles.
Turn the room lights off. Press your flashlight flat against the glass. If light shows through, there may be a space behind it, so look closer.
Check whether the mirror hangs on the wall or is set into it. A mirror set into the wall deserves a closer look. The “fingernail test” is unreliable, so do not rely on it. A thermal camera can help when you have one.
A laser microphone listens by aiming a beam at the outside of a window, so a phone cannot detect it. Close the curtains and consider window film if this worries you.
A sweep reports only what it found during that sweep, using your device’s sensors. It is not a certification, inspection or guarantee. Nothing from your sweep is saved, shared or sold. No photos, video or results leave your device to be stored — results are shown to you and then discarded.
